Kinesiology

The term Kinesiology is actually the study of body movement, so pure kinesiology is biomechanics. However more people are now familiar with the term kinesiology being a type of treatment in which the practitioner uses muscle testing to locate the origin of the problem.

Kinesiology can be used in different forms; some Chiropractors use the muscle testing technique to locate the joint restriction between two vertebrae which causes a structural problem. Other Kinesiologists use muscle testing to find allergies, emotional blockages and also to find the most suitable solution to correct this disharmony in the body; the correct remedy or the appropriate affirmation.

Another form of kinesiology which is often taught to be used on friends and family by non professionals is Touch for Health. It works on the same principle of muscle testing; the muscle is strong to indicate a positive effect on the body or to indicate ‘yes’ and the muscle will test weak to indicate a problem area or to indicate ‘No’ to a question asked of the body.

It was developed in the 1960’s, combining the Western Science with Eastern healing techniques. This encompasses the Core Eastern Principle of ‘The Five Elements’ and uses the principle of testing and monitoring muscles to gather information about the person’s well being.
