Vocal and Singers Massage.

Some singers use massage before or after their show as a ‘timeout’ or preparation, a moment out of the hectic lifestyle of touring. Others, especially opera singers, benefit enormously from specific work to the anterior neck muscles and overall posture correction.

If the neck muscles become tight singers can find themselves having to warm up more than usual or they may even lose the upper range in their voice. Even professional singers who know how to use their abdominal muscles, so as not to over utilise their neck muscles, may at times find that when the muscles are tight it is not so easy to switch them off and this affects their voice. Specific appropriate massage can also be useful to assist in recovery of voice strain.

Catherine Tiney and her network of therapists have experience working professional and amateur singers, Opera Australia singers and working with various musicals such as The Lion King.
