Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic Acupuncture also called Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a new introduction in the West, and offers a natural alternative to invasive cosmetic surgery, chemical (glycolic) peels and Botox.

Chinese doctors have been using points on the face for thousands of years to help combat signs of ageing in men and women and to help skin conditions.

A 1996 report published in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that among 300 cases treated with facial acupuncture and cosmetic acupuncture, 90% had marked effects with one course of treatment.

A course of cosmetic acupuncture treatment is between 10-15 sessions. Sessions will be twice a week initially and then once a week. Each individual will respond differently to the treatment depending on their age, diet, skin care regime and lifestyle. Following this, supportive treatments may be required to maintain facial rejuvenation depending on each individual person.

It works by stimulating neural and vascular areas on the facial skin and the muscles underneath by the application of the finest Japanese, sterilized, disposable needles to key areas of the face, head, neck and ears. The needles are inserted with precision and comfort and are left in for 20 minutes.  At the same time supportive needles will be used elsewhere on the body to balance your constitution.

In a cosmetic acupuncture treatment each person’s overall health is assessed to eliminate underlying causes of premature lines and signs of aging. Acupuncture philosophy recognizes that the premature lines on the face represent disharmony within the body.
